The Sir Hugh Ford Series of Distinguished Lectures is an annual event where invited leading researchers in the field of engineering present their legacy. The series is named in honour of Sir Hugh Ford, former Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering (1966-1978), FRS, President of IMechE and Institute of Metals, Pro-Rector of Imperial College London, knighted in 1975. The first lecture in the series took place in 2016.
